Nissan Titans... A used truck thread

Owned an 07 SE 4x4 King Cab for 7 yrs now, just over 160,000kms on it, mostly around Squamish and north, plenty off-road, sled hauling, heavy landscaping loads. No mods except air bags and Bilstein leveling shocks (for 5 yrs). All in all, touch wood, no major problems, just wear and tear stuff as well as preventative maintenance, plugs etc.

Except…. for one very expensive failure. The spring clip on the transmission cooler hose popped off while driving and lost ATF fast. The tranny welded itself together in seconds. The rebuild with 2yr warranty cost almost $4000. A bad day. If you get a Titan, change the spring clip on that hose for a worm clip, or 2.

I like the truck, always feels strong, generally reliable, but does guzzle gas. Apparently a diesel version is out next year. Will be $$$$s though.

Hey its my Tonka Truck from the 80s, just with smaller wheels.

I don't know who their head designer is, but he should be taken out back and shot.

Can't recall if the deal ever went thru or not, but Dodge was to design a new Titan in exchange for Nissan designing a fuel efficient compact car.

The Titan's existence is to provide suspension components to allow Frontier and Xterras to be Titan Swapped. ;)

I should teach my wife to drive stick. IT's just thicker steel.

It?

V8 Cummins?

I feel Nissan should've choose a better colour than yellow and the Platinum version for the video. Will be interesting to see a Pro4X model.

I drive 13,000km some months, and even i won't buy a titan.

Your gas bill would be bonkers…Titan, worst mileage ever.

The wife and I just picked up a loaded 2015 Pro-4x Titan yesterday. They're practically throwing them out. Got the luxury package with leather and Nav for pretty much the same cost as a 2016 base model Ram 4x4 with a crew cab.

And you get cheap gas where you are too.

Oddly enough Nissan says that the 2015 Titan gets a combined 15mpg, and I've done slightly better than that so far (between 16 and 17 in town) with the limited mileage I've put on it so far. In contrast, with my 08' Tundra, Toyota claimed 17mpg combined. I don't speed really and I drive fairly conservatively and I didn't have a single tank of fuel even come close to Toyota's figures. Typically I saw between 12.5 and 13.2 combined. They actually joke about how you'd have to drive with a raw egg between your foot and the accelerator to match Toyota's numbers on the Tundratalk forums.

That being said, we drive our Jetta 90% of the time

I didn't mean to imply anything about gas mileage. Just wanted to say that you got a great deal on a new vehicle, and that Courtenay also has cheap gas.

Thank you Costco. They've been busting the balls of the local stations since they opened.

A dealer is asking $75k for that new Nissan diesel on CL. Ouch. I'm guessing its inline with what other trucks are going…..but still seems high.
