anybody checked out their driver factor yet? apparently if you're down around a 0.6 or less your rates will either stay the same or go down. as the factor goes up from there so do your rates and significantly if it gets above 1. it's mainly based on the number of years you've been driving, your claim history going back 2 years and any tickets/violations you've had. there was going to be slight increases across the board anyway iirc so my rates might go up a few $ per month.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Thanks for the link.  I checked, and my factor is at 0.524.  Now I need to decide whether I should cancel/renew my insurance.  I had to renew in March, before the new system and my rate took quite a jump over previous years for no reason that I can figure out.

seems to be that after all the fees and shit to cancel and renew that for most people the savings and hassle won't be worth it. decent factor at 0.5, that seems to be around the lowest it goes from all the discussion I've seen. being old as dirt and driving like a grandma has it's advantages, I'm guessing DaveM will have a factor down around 0.001 in that case.

I am at 0.545 - 10 years BC experience, 21 total (Alberta). Have not had any at fault claims ever, am Roadstar 43% discount etc. I guess the factor continues dropping the more claims free years you have? I wonder if your registered address impacts the factor, or whether you have had not at fault claims, I've had a few in recent years.
