New Ford Ranger and Bronco

In a surprising move Ford pulls their head from their ass. Over the years they discontinued two of their biggest selling models citing that the production run was over and that it wouldn't be cost effective to design new versions. After several years of watching all the other manufacturers scoop up all the business they lost by not having the Ranger and the Bronco it sounds like somebody did the math. Is it too little to late? Will this only succeed if there is a hybrid Ranger ? Or an E-Ranger? (Hybrid F150 and small electric SUV due in 2020) Discuss.

The Ranger looks like a Fordified Chevy Avalanche. As cool as the Bronco looks, there is nothing quite as disappointing as a two door SUV. Hopefully those are just concepts and not production based models?

Would love to see the actual concept rendering by ford, not fan made. I'm sure they drew it up a few years ago.

How much money did Ford really leave on the table has the share price of Ford dropped since they killed the Ranger, isn't Ford the the only N.A. car mfger that DIDn't need the bailout?

If you google Ford Ranger sales figures you will see that year after year sales dropped by 75% from the peak

also it was going to cost Ford close to a billion to retool for a new ranger, if Ford spent those big bucks and nobody wants to buy a small truck they aren't making a net profit so the ranger died cuz nobody was buying small PU's , in fact how many small PU's of the size made in the 90's are there for sale in NA now?

Toyota was smart cuz they resized the mini PU to the present day Tacoma it fits a family of 5, 5 adults in comfort, if Ford is smart they will copy most of that Tacoma they have torn apart in a design studio somewhere in Dearborn

Add to that Ford already had the f-150 which has been the best selling vehical in NA for [HTML_REMOVED] 40 yrs so just keep selling them to see what happens was a smart move, it appears they will build a 150 with a small diesel, I personally can't see the point of a 1/2 ton with a diesel in NA but I guess we will see if Ford can make money doing it

Personaly I can't see the point of a 2door SUV, all those 2 door SUVs are dead, how many are there for sale out there now?

Sounds like it will be based on the Ford Everest, and likely not look like the renderings in this thread. Sorry to be buzz-killington.

midsized ford T-6

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Ranger_(T6)

makes sense but just cuz its built with a diesel somewhere does not necessarily mean NA will get the same engine

Toyota killed the FJ Cruiser and the two door Jeep is now a niche market. Can't see Ford doing well with a two door Bronco, unless their plan is to go head to head with Jeep with a rugged off-roader.

Why slag free swag?

It's a cross between that and a Baja.

The Rangers I saw while in France, I'm assuming they were the t6, we're actually sharp little trucks. Looked like a short box smushed tacoma, looked to be a pretty awesome weekend warrior/city truck.

yeah bro!!

What's the point of something with that short a bed that over an SUV?
