by recommending cheap places to have tires changed from winter to summer. summer ones aren't on rims so they have to be swapped (yes they'll fit). cheapest i've gotten so far is 80$ from OK Tire.
know anywhere that can do better?

frank hurt secondary in surrey. My old auto teacher is there now. Give the school a call, and ask to speak to the automotive department. Tell them you're a customer and it should get you past the "he's in class" bullshit. He know's his shit, and won't let his students mess around and screw things up.
That's the problem with cities, they're refuges for the weak, the fish that didn't evolve.
I don't want to google this - sounds like a thing that NSMB will be better at.
I can't recommend anywhere cheaper, but I would suggest just getting another set of rims for your winter tires. If you get some cheap rims, they'll pay for themselves after a year or two of not having to pay someone to swap your tires.
Way back from the old school days of NSMB…
like said above, if you can find some cheap steel rims you would be much better off.
I just did a trip to the Pick-n-Pull and found some steel wheels for $30 for all 4- cheaper than getting the rubber switched over this fall.
Depending on the wheel size you can possibly get brand new steel wheels for $50ish each. Still, that pays off after 3 rotations-- which would mean they pay off fall 2012.
oh ya, and I don't think you can find much cheaper than $80 for a tire swap. I think Costco may be about $60. Canadian tire is $17/tire which after tax comes to $80 all together.
I had 4 snow tires, bought 4 steel rims from Kal-tire and they swap em for free every year.

I think a lot of places do this. I know Costco does too.
That would have worked if she would have done that when she bought the snow tires.
Unless she wants to run her summer tires on the steel rims, she will have to have 8 tires mounted and balanced.
probably more than $80.
Something to think about for next year.
Can't beat cheap high school labour, but Sorat in NV installed winters on new rims and put them on my car for $65 + tax. Cheapest I found on the Shore.

Can't beat cheap high school labour,
depends who is doing the work. My class had 3 guys who worked at tire shops, and a few others who knew our shit.
OTOH, my mom is a secretary works at a school. She had the kids there change over to her winter tires. She found out that they fucked up torquing them when 3 of the whel studs sheared off going down the connector into westbank. Luckly we were only a few clicks from town and we were able to tighten up the two remaining and get it fixed in town.

ya I never thought of that. I run steels all year long, too cheap for nice ones.
