Buffy Saintmarie may be 75 yrs old but she looked/performed/sounded like a rock star, all dressed in black this was not some old folkie making another comeback to put dog food on the table

She was playing a big lucite guitar and she did a whole bunch of songs I didn't realize she had written

Given her roots she probably should not still be with us let alone a rock star, born on the res in Saskatchwan in 1941, her music never really fit anywhere, black listed by both the Johnson [HTML_REMOVED] Nixon administrations something she is very proud of, not sure what she is but definatley defys pigeon holing … mebe a protest singer ratehr than than a hippy/folkie?

its not easy or cheap getting to Haida Gwai but she was worth seeing

Duotang is playing a show at the Biltmore on November 3rd, playing for the first time since the 2006 Mint Records Party at some warehouse space on Main St(funny I remember that). Good local band, Uptights, opening for them, lead singer Jesse Gander of d.b.s., Black Rice and Ghost House fame (props if you get that reference), has also produced the last 2 Japandroids albums and the last 2 White Lung albums.

Tickets are cheap.
