How do you pronounce the store's name?

I was corrected back in 1995 (I remember, I was in Grade 9) when I said "Emm-Eee-Cee". I've been pronouncing it rhyming with Neck ever since.

Is there a correct way? I grew up in Ontario, so maybe that had something to do with it.

What do you call it?

me too. since i read it on the interweb it must be true.

Being an agoraphobic adrenaline junkie would be pretty convenient, because you could get your rush from just going to the store to get some milk instead of having to jump off a mountain or out of an airplane.

they also call me "balloon"

I know it as both, but pronounce it Emm-Eee-Cee. Always have. I recall some people way back calling it the "co-op" but I think that's when it was just the one store and it was just them and Taiga (or Taiga-works, as I think some called it then).

Do you call BSP "Bisp" or do you call it "Bee-Ess-Pee". MEC stands for Mountain Equipment Co-op, therefore I call is "Emm-Eee-Cee"

No you don't - you call it "Evil supporter of the anti-MTB evil Sierra club evil people" which would be ESOAMESCSP.

Sounds like my friend's wife who while driving past V.A.P. (Vancouver Auto Parts) said she'd never seen a "vap" store before.

Oh ya, and Rewoga is correct.
