I know what I do at work isn't worth that, and I doubt what you do is either. The same as I dont think what (insert famous sports "hero" / overpaid CEO here) does is worth that amount of money either.

Some pro athletes are overpaid princesses, this is true.

But ask the little kid that loves an athlete, uses him as motivation to train hard, study hard and succeed. Ask the working man who's only relaxation comes from watching the sport and the athletes that he loves. These are both very valuable things to me.

Could these athletes do what they do for a fraction of what they're paid?? yes, absolutely but would it mean that we would all miss out on certain athletes ever even becoming athletes?? yes, absolutely. I for one wouldn't have wanted to be a kid without getting to watch overpaid, moron athletes like micheal jordan and walter payton.

Something tells me the players salaries are only a small percentage of where the
money you paid for your ticket goes…owners, agents etc.

The big issue that keeps the ticket prices high is demand. When the stands are empty
like in some US cities, the ticket prices are below $50 for good seats. So as long as
there is demand, people like me will only be able to see a hockey game every couple years.
