Anybody go? What did ya think?
Metallica
I went last night. Had floor tickets. I thought it was pretty friggin' amazing. Been listening to Metallica since '88 when Justice first came out.
I thought the boys were on top of everything pretty much all night. Set list was stellar, Kirk nailed the solos, Ulrich was close to the best I've heard him live, Trujillo killed it and James's voice sounded great. There was a lot of great energy.
I didn't really get the gimmicky theatrics with the technical 'breakdowns' that were happening. Seemed a bit dumb. Probably for the film I guess…
Overall a solid grade A for the show.
Ride, don't slide.
My son [HTML_REMOVED] his 2 friends went and said it was probably the loudest concert they'd ever been to. They didn't quite get the gimmicky breakdowns either.

i enjoyed the stage show. Every bit of it. Also, ear plugs were a worthy investment
My favourite bits were the intro to One, Lady justice and the crosses for Master of Puppets

Youtube clips are about as useful to me as a miniskirt in Iran.
Didn't go. Had the opportunity with VIP access, but didn't go.
What sort of "stage theatrics" are talking about here?
I've seen them many a time - always a solid show, and I'm a huge fan of Trujillo since he entered the band. I know a few guys who work as their techs and it's been cool to get the 411 about the band direct. Hammett's quite the surf nut too, which makes up for his abundant use of the wah pedal (enter snicker from those musically inclined here).

tried to get the cheapo tickets for tomorrow's filming - that would have been fun.
I went last night and thought it was a great show. The stage show was impressive and the sound was good. I loved that they came out to The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, then went right into Creeping Death. Solid entrance. 16000 people singing Master of Puppets is pretty cool. It was a last minute decision to go and I'm glad that I did. I forgot to bring earplugs and my ears are ringing pretty good today.
Cons:
-The "comedian" (and I use that word in it's loosest possible form) they sent out sucked ass.
-I found the "accident" and sound malfunction pointless and disruptive but , whatever.
-I got an email from Ticketmaster saying to be in your seats no later than 7 pm and Metallica didn't come on until almost 9. wtf?
FYI, they play the theme from Good, bad and ugly before every show.

WTF
, however, notice the black guys pants don't leave much to the imajination.
I havent been to a concert in years and i was shocked at how tame it was. The show was spectacular, so much fun and the tesla coils made me lose my mind.
The comedian telling people not to drink too much and to party responsibly was retarded, as were the signs asking people not to crowd surf or mosh. It made me want to incite a riot.

WTF
It's all good, no need for flamin, I have a lot of peeps in the industry so the opportunity comes up a lot. That being said, I've capitalized a lot in the past so it's not as though I've missed out. Different priorities now than then - no worries.

Did not know that. Last time I saw them was in 1989, I think. At the Coliseum with The Cult opening.
