I've used Bill at Main Steet Auto at 33rd [HTML_REMOVED] Main for years.

Past vehicles of mine he has serviced was a 89 Dodge van, 92 Jeep YJ [HTML_REMOVED] currently a 97 Ford van. (My newer stuff gets serviced at the dealer.)

'96 Honda needs oxygen sensor I reckon. Should look inside rear drums I cringe…..

Oh yeah, if o/s is hooped will that effect a/c efficacy 'cause now a/c struggles to de-fog windscreen or you figure a/c needs re-charge?

And thanks all for above.

Change the sensor yourself, and rear drums are also easy to work on.

Needs an o2 sensor because your AC doesn't work which wore out your rear drums?

Solid.

It's a common complaint with the 96 Civic.

Your heater core might be plugged or on its way out.

The o2 sensor is an easy for any scanner so make sure you don't just bring it in a say can you change the sensors. Make them scan the car first; sounds like a no brainier but you would be amazed at the number of people that have had unessesary work done and when the mech is questioned, they simply say "Well you said you needed new brakes, so I put on new brakes".

When I changed the o2 sensors on my 98 civic the fuel efficiency improved a shit ton. Pretty easy and some crappy tires have the wrench in the loaner tool program they have.

Interior fog can be due to a water leak so under carpets is wet.
