Mecca
- the birthplace of the Prophet and holiest place in Islam. Wake up sheeple!

That's why you should always have a spare.

I run a lean household, what can I say?

Tore a sidewall and needed a replacement ASAP so mailorder was out of the question ….

not much you can do about that. Could've been worse. That tire is likely over 100 bucks in any bike shop up here that would actually have one in stock.

Jesus this thread grew some legs….

And it all started with me just bitchin' about the prices on mountain gear and the like at MEC versus my local ski/snow shops here in Aspen, er, Whistler… Ahem.

Man spends big bucks on new bike. Man complains about the cost of everything else now that wallet is drained. 😔

Wrong. Always.

Nope.

Man spends smart bucks on several higher end bikes. Puts in the time. Researches.

Man bitches about a staple store which is shifting its policies and directives to better "fit" a trending demographic.

Man hasn't changed. Wallet hasn't changed. Landscape has.

Man bitches.

Hadn't really shopped at MEC in years when out of the blue I get an email from them this past June. I open it up and it's a gift certificate for $25. The gift certificate is an enticement to get me back i guess. I go online and find a nice little fleece for my daughter. I set up an in-store pick up for the Calgary location since i knew I would be going there. Easy as that i have a new fleece for the kid.
