6ft….lol. no worries for you.
The 350s are pretty nice though.
KLX will certainly keep the budget down.

depending on how big you are a smaller bore could be nicer for off-road and trail riding, even more so if your skills aren't up to snuff. A 450 can be a bit of a handful when the going gets tough. Also keep in mind Huskies are pretty high in the saddle department.
And the pre-KTM big bore 4 strokes are heavy weights. Around 280lbs ready to ride weight.
Sweet. Backup plan is a KLX250, I'm used to 250cc two stroke MX bikes. I'm 6ft tall and 200lbs.
They're good utility bikes without a doubt but if you're accustomed to the snap of a MX smoker you'll be yawning on the klx250 in a big way til you kick down for the 351 kit etc.
TE gearboxes, at least for the 07 and 09's I rode are pretty close ratio. Not a biggie for trail hopping or little rips on pavement but worth mentioning.
My 525 orange pig is easily 280lbs full of fuel. Steers like a logging truck in a pylon course!

Any other plateable bikes I should consider? I'm liking the te310 and 450. Either would do.
Budget will play a big factor. How much you roughly want to spend? Also how much trail? If it's only a little bit of trail with a lot of logging road you might want to go with a bigger bore bike.
The 'only a little bit of trail' thing is a slippery slope  Once you get the taste of blood in your mouth it's hard not to want a steady diet of it, especially if you've ridden mtb and discover the skills and instinct compliment spark plug riding nicely. Just don't give up on riding your bicycle like so many do…end of the day, the bicycle is one of the best inventions going.
Oh, you'll need 3 bikes…plated thumper, woods smoker and a trials donkey.

Lol. Having a trials and a Moto, I do find my self wanting for a plated thumper
Having done the 'full fleet' thing for quite a while, the wanting has always been for another 8hrs on the clock each day. Given a somewhat involved job and family prio's to juggle, finding time to ride consistently is tricky.
Plated thumper means loops right off the house, no wasted time loading/driving/unloading…
Ride safe and wring that time sponge dry!

Step one would be having a place to park a fleet of bikes.

Space is one thing, upkeep responsibility and whatnot is another. I culled all but one of the spark plug herd in the last while given I was getting sick of fleet management duties and costs in addition to being the designated wrench for the family bicycle herd. I'm just glad the whole family likes to ride at least something….

Love my '11 TE310. Very tall bike (I'm 5'10 and even with the seat cut down, I'm on tiptoe on one foot only at a stoplight) but very light and nimble, decent but not overwhelming power. Doesn't like to be lugged, needs to be revved up and lots of clutch abuse in really technical stuff, but I have a great time on it at places like mcnutt. Not great much above about 100km/h even with "tall" gearing on - lots of vibration, loud, squirelly handling, but I've ridden to to the Okanagan and back sticking to dirt where possible and ripping down the Coq where necessary - can do 130 briefly if you need to make a pass.
Now that the italian Huskys have been orphaned by the KTM acquisition, you should be able to get one of them for cheap.

Sweet. Wanna sell it? =)

True enough. I have no space, but lots of time. I'll be living in a rental suite for the next 2 years atleast. I have a small spot in the garage to store my mtb but I feel storing a moto in there is a bit much to ask.

My wife rides too so maintenance can really add up. 2 Motos, 2 trials, 2 dh, 2 am, 2 dirt jumpers……so a dual purpose bike would like mean another bike would follow a few months after that, lol.
just did 2 oil changes last night and have another 2 to do tonight.

I'll drop mine off tomorrow night, OK?
In other news, I've got a couple rides on a RAD Mfg cush wheel on the orange pig. Smoothens out power delivery and I'm less paranoid about ripping the splines out of countershaft. Peace of mind….
