One doesn't have to get a plate. If you are gonna ride on private property you're good. Someone who only takes their bike to a motocross track for example doesn't need a plate.

Nice bike Dave. I hit vedder last week and the trails were in pretty nice shape.
Anyone familiar with Husqvarna? I want a dirt bike that I can ride 10 mins across town to the woods, TE450 is what I'm liking. Don't care about how it handles on the highway or in town. I have yet to get a class six.
I demo'd a 2013 TE450. It was not snappy like a closed course 450. My best analogy was comparing a CRF450X to a CRF450R. Built similar power, but was not exciting for me.

New Huskys and Husabergs are just KTM's with a few different specs and blue plastic though are they not
they do look pretty sexy
also planning on a mcnutt or vedder ride on friday afternoon if anyone wants to go for a ride.
2013 Husky TE450 was definitely not a KTM. 2015 HusKTMBergs are definitely not TE's and don't come in a 450. Totally different animals.
2013 Husky TE450 would be great for gravel [HTML_REMOVED] easy trails, only concern might be parts as it's the last of the bastard children from italy, much like my 2011 TE310 but even more so. 2015 FE501 is pretty much an EXC as Rat says, and would be a killer trail bike, based on what all my buddies on EXC's have to say.

depending on how big you are a smaller bore could be nicer for off-road and trail riding, even more so if your skills aren't up to snuff. A 450 can be a bit of a handful when the going gets tough. Also keep in mind Huskies are pretty high in the saddle department.
Husky had a te310 that was pretty well liked and could be plated.
Certain KTM's(new huskys too)350 can be plated and are reportedly pretty awesome offroad. I know a few people who have them and love them, although they have the non-plated version.

Sweet. Backup plan is a KLX250, I'm used to 250cc two stroke MX bikes. I'm 6ft tall and 200lbs.
