I guess any time the government insists that public players are told to shut the fuck up or else…i get suspicious if i should trust what is really going on and what is really at stake. I mean, we are talking about registering dirt bikes not criminal convictions. And oh ya, there is $$$ at stake for the government entity. Goodbye transparency and trust as far as i am concerned. Even if teh website is not up to date, it seems there is no difference as far as the whole story is concerned. I was reluctantly acceptent of the whole process until that point. Hopefully my trust will be earned. :stupid:

well it does depend on the tires you buy , but i think it is referred to as " economy of scale " . . .

they sell a hell of a lot more motorcycle tires than mtb , but i know what you mean . it does seem crazy .

mind you, once i went for the rim locks, heavy duty tubes and install, the bill came out to nearly 400 bucks!

this whole motorcycle thing sure snowballs eh?? not a dam thing wrong with my little KLX250. cheap solid transportation and decent enough off road. yes it is, no matter what real dirt bikers say.

but but but…

i'm really fracking tall and it just feels so small and mild. i like it but it does seem kinda…. old and basic. so my 'bike advisor' (LBS mtn bike manager) says, 'why wouldn't you get something bigger and more capable. he says 'look for used Husaberg 390. street legal even. hard to find, but best bike out there. plenty of mellow power, easy to maintain, ten times your klx or the yamaha wrr blah blah blah.

naturally a bike like this won't be for sale anywhere near me anyways so i look just for fun… a guy has one 3 yrs old 3400km (44hrs) 1hr south of me, plated. wants it gone, no time to ride. so i go down and he lets me ride it yesterday.

holy crap. could there be a cooler bike? tall, rangy like me, light, smooth and powerful and freaking dead sexy. Husaberg. OMG, make the lust stop….

Indeed, a wonderful bike!! bought mine 2 seasons ago and now she has 3500 km's and just about 100 hours. 80% dirt, 20% street sumo setup

Just bought a timbersled mountain horse to mount up as well, all seasons covered!!!

crazy cool. who knew all these berg 390's out there. awesome. do you find the maintenance overwhelming? are you changing the oil constantly and tearing down to do the valves? i don't want to be owned by a bike. already have too many vessels and hobbies. must be a riot with the street wheelset, wow.

I giggle every time i switch over to the supermoto setup :) The lower seat height (can actually flat foot the damn thing!) and crazy light flick ability, it's a blast!!

Sadly though, it really needs more power for the street (my one fear for the TS kit as well). It's not BAD, but once you get closer to triple digits the bike starts to show it's small CC's. The 570 is very very lust worthy :)

Maint. isn't so bad either… I do oil changes every 10-15 hours depending on the riding and i've only checked the valves once so far (no change) but ready to do it again now and it isn't so bad. Tons of reports on husaberg.org of these 70 degrees motors lasting 400+ hours and barely any change in values!

They really seem to be super strong!

Shame they don't make them anymore :(

are you actually in Iceland? cool!

a number of people mention the relatively poor highway-ability of these and similar bikes, but it's clear that would be the case. i don't expect my mtn bike to perform like a road bike and i don't expect to see 100km/hr often with this bike. almost never, no major hwy use. unless it's got 650cc's and a fairing, i don't want to be on the hwy!
