Sweet. That's a powerful bike for a beginner, although you'll get used to it really quick.

I just bought a new 2008 YZ250 and some goodies including an FMF gnarly pipe, rad guards, skid plates, hour meter, TM Designs chainguide, Protaper CR High bar, 3 sets of sprockets (50, 51, 52t). Soon to come a carbon pipe guard, 3g tank, and maybe a Rekluse.

So when are you coming up?

I was there yesterday, but you can be sure ill be back often. Some seriously nice terrain up in your neck of the woods Wayne.

biggest thing with all that power is not giving it to much throttle by accident through the chunder. Man a few times I gave it a bit much and it just took off. gonna take some practice to tame the beast.

Yup, that was some awesome riding up around duffy yesterday. We also got lucky that it was not 35 degree yesterday.

Wayne, have you tried the rekluse? What's your thought on them?

There's a reason why the best off roaders in the country come from Kamloops. So much terrain, easily accessible, and ranges from slow, tight and wet to wide open sandy and fast.

Now I'm going to spend the next couple of days setting this bike up before I ride it.

I haven't tried a Rekluse but I think 95% of the people who try one say its like cheating. If I plan on doing any more races, then any advantage I will take.

Do you think loosing the ability to bump start is a big downside?

For me clutching is not a biggie but the idea of using rekluse combined with a LH rear brake is very intriguing. Almost like mtb with motor.

At this age, I need all the help I can get for pleasant trail experience.

Forgot to include an 11oz fly wheel weight is coming on Tuesday. I'm going to try the FWW out first before I make the call about a Rekluse. I'm going to see how it helps save me from stalling, combined with the Gnarly pipe (low end grunt) and some gearing changes it should be sweet.

I'd like to try one of those G2 throttle cams too.
