yeah I think flying is the obvious answer, but I've seen people choose other options.

Or perhaps someone is riding buddy
I'd fly too. There's no litter that stays in the air at least but I'd probably eat something plastic and die of starvation.

That is tough. Flying sounds great if you come back as an eagle, but there are a lot of flying insects and being a mosquito doesn't sound like fun. I suppose there is no way to escape possible being an insect, but I would go with land knowing that is where most of the mammals live.

Has anyone read Sapiens? They make the stipulation that homosapien's ability to believe in a common myth (gods, church, state, The United Water Reincarnators) is what separated us from other species and allowed us to prevail.
Really though, how the hell would anything be better than water?! Sky, pfft.
