What do y'all do for work lunches? I'm getting super sick of sandwiches and wanna try getting away from deli meat. Problem I have is I am not always near a microwave or lunch room so it's gotta travel well and be mostly finger food. Any ideas?

Ha Ha! Made you look.

I take yogurt with granola & raisins every day. Carrot & celery sticks are incredibly boring, but good for you. Deli meats are full of nitrites which are not good.

Someone once told me to only "shop around the perimeter of the grocery store".  Following suggestions depend on how much effort you want to put into prepping.  But I guess with sandwiches you have to prep anyways...

  • Qinoa cooked in water or chicken broth + capers, diced shallots, red peppers, broccoli leaves, and salmon.  Essentially, sautee the veggies, then cook qinoa in stock and throw in a frozen salmon.  Add broccoli the last.  For more taste, put Parmesan cheese, thyme, or other herbs.  Season with salt and pepper while cooking of course.

  • Mix egg white with welted spinache + garlic.  Make an omlette out of it.  Add cheese or whatever in between for more flavor.  Eat with a toast, potatoes or whatever.

  • Or just pre-cook some broccoli and throw in a protein.

Chicken.  BBQ or shake and bake.

Try some other sandwich fillings, like tuna or PB.

Just skip food altogether. I've given up eating and get all my calories from alcohol now; it's super convenient and seems to be making the rest of my life less annoying as well.

Good trail mix should have a mix of protein and carbs. Not for everday but you should be able to man up a couple times a week.

And try a different bread, man...............

But you're so likeable, how could you possibly have any enemies?

You know it's true.

Did you actually drive home yesterday?

No, I drove back this morning. I worked till about 1:30am this morning, slept for a bit and then did another 5 hours before heading back to Van for my city job @ 4.
