Not sure what the locale geographical reference was to but I read a month's worth of rain in 2 or 3 days fell.
As was said in this thread with the snow melt and weak surface from the summer fires, there was nothing holding the flow back.
And now we have round 2 starting tonight which in all fairness shouldn't help one bit. My Magik 8 ball says things will be closed for a "while" and we're in store for a wicked winter.
I'm not a prepper but I'm looking at things that don't require a lot of water or heat to prepare and eat. Gotta save that clean water to drink just in case.

a heli survey of hy 8 between Spences bridge & Merrit, in this^^ vid kms of road are just completely gone you can't tell a road ever existed , people have had their land washed away as in it just no longer exists and I believe 6 dead, just such a massive amount of rain I don't see what could have been done
