Looking for an easy riding, cruise and carve set up. Like the LandYachts but they are a bit pricey$$. Need a Bang for buck style.
Have not kicked around or been on a board for a loooong time, so the more forgiving the better.
WTF, Over?

Save some money, get a landyacht. I liked mine way better than my Loaded. Drop through with flex is the business.
yeah ly, makes some solid stuff; not bad pricing, really. go to the factory store in east van - they've usually got heaps of blems [HTML_REMOVED] discounted bits in stock. rayne makes nice stuff as well, but more $.
a nice low drop deck (or drop though) makes for easy pushing / footbraking. very newb friendly [HTML_REMOVED] easier on the quads for long distance cruising. i like the foot pockets of a drop deck - locks the feet in [HTML_REMOVED] keeps them off the wheels (again, newb bonus points). the ly switchblade is a versatile setup - drop deck [HTML_REMOVED] drop through - you've got upper or lower truck mounting options depending on how low you want to go:
my rayne nemisis has a similar shape - though w/o the cut outs - and works great:
can always check cl for good used deals.
Can those things be ollied?
Drop decks are for racers.. Get a nice carving board with some flex and it'll be a much more enjoyable ride.
Don't be one of the million kids in bc with a dh race board who stand around looking cool cause its the new fad
Clunking is for retards.
I have a landyahtz board I picked up a few years ago, rode around for a few weeks on that summer then decided it wasn't for me. It sat in my hallway for 3 years and is now sitting in the trunk of my car. I think I paid $120 (it was used at the time).
If you're interested at all, I can get you some pics.

au contraire. drop decks are great pushers / cruisers / carvers as well. maybe you're thinking something like directional ly dh deck w/ the radical wedging / dewedging, and huge wheelbase, but modern drop freeride decks (even some dh decks) are great versatile rides.
I've also got a rayne hustler, which is a drop through with lots of flex, and I don't really care for it; too bouncy, and lacking the pockets that i really like.
but to each his own of course.
Whatever happened to just cruising around on a flexy-as-hell Sector 9 pintail?
I used to pump for miles without a single foot push with the spring that thing had.

Hmmm this would be good exercise, and i remember doing that too as a kid with just about any board.
I live in a subdivision with good pavement and kind of an oasis from poverty and pot holes on the outside.
i need to do something and i do like soul carving.
ya since moving to Kelowna I've been thinking about getting back into the longboarding. Lots of good pavement, flats, a few hills, and lots of beach walk. I started doing that insane downhill stuff a few years ago and foresaw some body issues if I kept it up.
Soul carving is where it is at. I actually build a board a few years back, steamed the wood, fiberglassed it and gave it a pretty solid camber- it would pump for ever.
Poz, if you're looking for a board, I've got one that I would let go. $75 and I'll meet you in Kelowna. It's a Loaded, nothing spectacular, but it's honestly been ridden a dozen times, no more.

Hmmm you got me intrigued. I'm out of town until sometime in June though. I'm in Vernon regularly when I'm around.
What brand?
Tried out quite a few, Went with this, Arbor bamboo blunt:
I am pretty rusty, but it seems like a nice ride to nock some rust off :)

hey I just picked up a used Arbor Fish bamboo. Its a pin-tail and i was hoping to find a pump specific board/trucks but beggars cant be choosers around here.
Put some new trucks wheels ect. on it. And to my surprise i could actually carve pump the thing(after 25 years) and its great fun/exercise. I plan to do it every morning for an hour…cause i be fat now and detest running.
Thing roles like its nuclear powered.
