I don't understand why all of Canada is so intent on changing the culture of Alberta and Saskatchewan away from it's western roots. Rodeos are part of the deal, and they don't just happen in the stampede - every single small town in Alberta has one, some have multiple. I live in a town of 7000, we have 3 annual rodeos. We get redneck and do things like race bored out lawn mowers, and bring in mud drag racers. We also have bull riding and saddle bronc competitions, and yes, chuck wagon races - there's one up the road from me tonight. This is an integral part of what make's the bulk of Alberta great.
Does the stampede still do the, 'let a calf run around and then choke-the-fucker then tie it up' event?
