[QUOTE=Duncan; So that clearly puts them in the category of Loony-Tunes-Moonbat-Weirdos, rather than religion.

Something like the christian churches I guess.

The raw, primitive, unrefined trails that see little to no maintenance are the kinds of trails that really build skill. What kind of skills do you learn riding a trail that was made by a machine, groomed to perfection and void of any rocks, roots or other obstacles that could send you careening over the handlebars?

For a second there, I thought L. Ron H was back on the boards here.

If Beck Hansen and half the cast of the 70's show are Scientologists, count me in!

John Travolta, anyone? He seems pretty normal to me!

FYI, the ahem "church" treats celebrities very differently from normal folks. Celebs are free advertising for bringing in new membership, and they fall over themselves to keep the celebs happy and on board. So the celebrities don't have to do the same sort of work, nor do they mix with the others. They also have no idea what the regular membership is subjected to.

It's pretty well described in the book I linked at the start of this thread. I'm not about to reproduce a whole chapter here …
