There's usually gold in the comments too. Like for this one…talk goes to "The Glim Dropper" scam. From that link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_confidence_tricks#Glim-dropper …I start reading and get to the Landlord scam and recall hearing about it hitting Kamloops recently and how I thought that was a particularily brutal scam, leaving one or more people thinking they are moving into their new place, but nope, SOL….harsh.
"The landlord scam advertises an apartment for rent at an attractive price. The con artist, usually someone who is house-sitting or has a short-term sublet at the unit, takes a deposit and first/last month's rent from every person who views the suite. When move-in day arrives, the con artist is of course gone, and the apartment belongs to none of the angry people carrying boxes."

that's like that scene from Zombie land, girl says she lost her engagement ring and tells gas station boy if he finds it she'll give him 3g and her little sister goes back to the gas station, and "picks up" the ring and bargains with gas station boy and runs away with some money in their pocket
