iPods and Photos?

OK, let me get this straight…
With a normal (non-photo) iPod I can store files (non-music) on it right?
Would it be possible to connect a digital camera to it to use it as an extra memory card as such? I realise I would not be able to view pictures on it as it is not the colour screen but is this doable or do I need to drop the extra bling on a Photo iPod for this?
Also, if both can do that is the Photo iPod still worth the extra money? I figure I'd probably just go for the larger size non-photo one instead….
Thanks,

No the original i pod cannot be connected to a camera, your better off buying the old one and buying yourself more memory for your camera.

at $100 it's not a very good deal, however.

Both iPods can hold non-music files. However, the 40GB non-Photo ones have been discontinued.

Does the photo iPod come with everything I need to hook up my camera to it? Or would I still need to pay $100(US?) for that media reader?

Can you hook a projector to one of those things?

you can hook it up to a TV, so i assume you could do the same with a projector in some low quality fashion. one of my friends has an ipod photo and shows off photos on it so it's marginally useful at least for some people.

I'll ask an Apple dealer just to make sure that the cables aren't included… If they are I'll probably end up going photo. If not I'll get the bigger non-photo one I think…

Where can I buy a 40GB clickwheel new?
Any differences (battery life etc) between those and the newer 20's?

wrong

If you have the iPod photo, you just need to buy this to put photos from your camera, and yes, that price is canadian.
