Is it possible to get insurance for a few days at a time? my van isnt insured over the winter and i dont want to start insuring it until I get a summer job lined up, but i want to head to whistler for the weekend (23-25april) for the world ski invitational. will they let me get insurance for those 3 days only? or like 48 hrs or something?

You'll pay through the nose to get a day permits, but it's possible.

Way back from the old school days of NSMB…

I think it depends on the vehicle and whether you want collision and the extras. If I recall it was $25 per day for basic (no collision or anything) and it just goes up from there. If you buy a week it gets cheaper. If you look to insure for 3 months it's probably only marginally more expensive than a weeks.
