Check out CBC Radio 3 (internet only). Try downloading a R3:30 podcast, which is a top 30 of Canadian indie music. I have found some really good stuff in there.

the new Animal Collective is phenomenal. Think disjointed beats, loud guitars and layers of sounds, combined with meaningful lyrics all sung with a slight nod to The Beach Boys' production and harmony
