Just watching a CBC tv special about this very thing. Tune in right now, or perhaps you can watch online. Edit; It was on the National tonight.

AW's post was a lot more than someone dumping their garbage. Ill suspect it waas a waste removal company that missed cut off at the dump and tipped a bin out at the old quarry to make it disappear. just look at the mattresses for reference as to how big a pile this is.

Absolutely criminal…..and judging from the burn marks in the trees, probably a regular occurance. This is where game cameras would be useful, and maybe the cops could go after fuckers like this instead of sniffing out farmhouses that are growing a few plants.

So you're telling me people carried that crap to the top of a cliff just to throw it off?

That's a special breed of asshat.

Its a steep and narrow road up to some radio towers with a turn around up top and the cliff is maybe 150 feet from where you'd park.

So it probably cost them more in fuel and time to get there than the tipping fee would have been at the dump.

Double facepalm.

Well no, this is little mountain in Parksville. The one you see by the coombs Junction of the inland highway, the Parksville dump is literally within 5 minutes of this place.
Tipping fees and regulations are getting ridiculous I do think it should be subsidized to the point of it being free to throw shit away. Cause I see shit like this everywhere. And nobody seems to give a fuck about it.

Dud have you seen the trails snowmobilers and such leave through the woods? Easy to know where someone has been with a snowmobile the previous winter….empties found in places with no quad tracks and such

The place where I ride bikes is the local dumping ground. If you want to see how bad it gets here search "Doumont restoration project".

The wife and I did an across Canada motorcycle trip this summer and far and away the worst provinces for dumping are BC and NFLD.

It's brutal the amount of dumping that goes on here in the Thompson Valley. And I can't understand the mentality of driving for km's up a FSR just to save $5 at the dump.

But I do wish that BC had 0 tipping fees like the county I grew up in AB. But then again it seems like throwing garbage off a cliff is just a fun Sunday afternoon activity here…
