How much do you know about financial independence?

You go to work and I go ski some where , the difference is I don't have to but I do, after the glamor has worn off at some point being a ski bum is just a hard cold lonely outside job that doesn't pay at all and you don't get no sympathy

Anyone who is living their life according to their values is alright in my books.

Money isn't the be all and end all.

Don't ever mess with the apres-ski beers though…unless you happen to be drinking them in the parking lot, then that's okay :)

Now for me,I definitely have been one or all of those numbers at some point in the last 25 years.

nope I live pretty good I have always had money never been broke, my ski/paddle buddy sez we actualy have too much money to be ski bums and so coined the term "Gentleman Skiers"

Sure we all hit some of those #'s at some point but I think dirt bag and finacialy independant might be considered mutualy exclusive?

I feel as though there's varying levels of dirtbaggery..that article defintely outlines the rock-bottom dirtbag - while I'm probably guilty of a few forms of dirtbagging found in that article, it's been purely by choice and never by necessity

Saw a article where they divided it up to varying versions from the TGR dirtbag to the corporate dirtbag. Basically variations on the theme.

And for the record….Starbuck's washrooms make for a excellent change room facility. Did that one lots on road trips.

I think some of what some consider dirtbag behaviour today was really normal behaviour 30 years ago. My parents for example would pack a cooler with food for lunches on all day trips. Everyone I knew who skied packed their own thermos sammiches and such skiing or hiking.
