There's an old board member, I won't say who, who recently gained financial independence going all in on XRP for the last ten years.

He’s a lucky dipshit.

People get rich off of Lotto 6/49 as well. But more people dont

Looking at the chart, he also lost findependance late 2018 and 2021-2 sometime.  Best of luck to him!

That was when he was buying it most aggressively.

For every one person that lucks out on the roulette wheel of speculative investing there are hundreds, if not thousands, that lose it all.

I truly hope, for his sake, that he diversifies, maybe a Lambo or two.

(For real, also a joke)

Good for them.

Anyone who consistently saved and invested in low cost index funds for the past ten years would have done very well too.

Curious what their strategy is going forward. I don't suppose XRP has a safe withdrawal rate 😂

Is there even enough liquidity to cash out a large amount? Need to have a sucker on the other side of the trade to offload that nonsense on.

Here's an interesting way to look at it.  I'm looking at the Volatility graph.

They already withdrew enough to retire. XRPs market cap is about 124 billion. It's one of the OG legacy cryptos like BTC or ETH not a pump and dump memecoin. In 2015 when they started buying, xrp was selling for fractions of a penny per coin.

This isn't a buy crypto post. The ship for these kinds of gains has sailed. Just thought you guys might find it interesting.

As an aside how many of the funds in the legacy ETFs depended in some poor sucker having their groundwater poisoned? Or their village bombed? Or a single mother of three getting evicted because they couldn't afford the rent hike? Or a child getting crippled mining cobalt?

At least with crypto the only victims are other bag chasers.

I do, which is why I also investigate most of your crypto posts a little deeper.  Thanks.
