So last night I picked 11lbs of fresh cherries off a friends tree (yes I brought him beer in exchange). Now washed and waiting to be pitted and frozen, I want to use a lot of these in a beer. I was thinking about making my first lambic and keeping the beer on cherries for a few months. Anyone have any recommendations for beers with cherries? Maybe a Kriek?

Ya use lots. At least 1lb per GA.

We have more than enough to eat fresh, hopefully not so many that they rot before we finish them.

Thanks Connor. We pitted them last night and ended up with just over 10lbs of cherry fruit. Planning a 10gal batch so we may need to add a few more lbs if required.

yup, some of these are going to the slug trap. Beer works awesome to keep slugs off your strawberries by the way.

can't seem to find an old thread here about home brew and the search function on this otherwise awesome site is lacking. i'm just about out of stans juice and the stuff is bloody expensive. thinking about making my own. do any of you swear by your concoctions? work better than stans or just a cheaper alternative?

What the hell is Stans juice?

Yes, you can make beer equivalent to a local craft brewery.

I'm thinking he's interested in tire sealant, not beer.
