Alright then, here's my Albino Kangaroo! White IPA with Topaz and Ella hops, Belgian Wit yeast, coriander and orange peel. This is my 56th batch, of a total of 59 since November, 2011. That's 295 gallons, 1116 litres of goodness!

How many have you made?

Hops growing season is approaching! Does anyone have a lead on rhizomes? Last year I just got lucky dropping into Dans to find my a Centennial root there.

my first batch in a couple decades kinda sucked…two cans of muntors brown, it turned out almost like coke, very black and fizzy. i decided to go back to step one, which was pick up a brew house red ale after discovering the semi-local u-brew sold them. even after the first week in the bottle, is amazing. might just do these for awhile, around here it is $50 for the box. if i buy extract kits, they are $18 a piece, and if i use two, that's already $36. might just take the easy route, go for the brew house black stout next

The Brewhouse kits used to be brewed in Delta until this past spring. They are an all grain brew that is cooled and packaged. Now RJ Spagnols is shipping from Ontario. If you can find liquid yeast, you can greatly improve their output more to the style you're making.

thanks, i'm going to have to find a decent online source for this stuff as the shop in fernie is mainly a ubrew for wine, and not a lot of supplies you can actually buy. the dude in lethbridge has all the stuff, and said festa kits are great too, but i think they are hard to get these days or something.

Kind of steep shipping cost, but Brian at Centennial does ship. He's in Vancouver and sell by the ounce.

how to brew a better IPA…

How are yours? My West Coast IPA that I bottled end of November has definitely lost it's spark. Luckily, only two bottles remain.

I've made a few, some are better than others. These days I'm preferring CDAs to IPAs. I made a fresh-hopped CDA back in September (http://bb.nsmb.com/showpost.php?p=2839614[HTML_REMOVED]postcount=966) that I thought was one of the best beers I've made.

Black Rye IPA is up next (after my 80/- and a wee heavy). Got a good recipe?

Bridge's ingredients:

5.8% abv
68 IBU

Maris Otter
Malted Rye
Crystal
Midnight Wheat
Blackprinz

Dr. Rudi (wtf?) hops (bittering?)
Amarillo (aroma, obviously)
Nugget
Cascade

Any recommendations on how much of each for a 5G batch?

For those of you who brew often how do you get rid of it all? I share tons of mine and what is left still takes forever to consume. Trying to get away from bottling which will mean filling growlers off the keg for post ride but harder to give away to random folks.
