As awesome as Dan's video is, I'm looking for a homebrew (beer) supplies store that knows their shit, either in North Van or Burnaby.

Got any tips? Looking to brew at home. I've done it before 10 years ago.

Kegging vs bottles? I've only every bottled, and have a capper, and my beer fridge isn't big enough for a keg, unless they come in bubba keg size too.

Is it possible to make home brew that doesn't taste like cow anus?

Granted, all the people I know who've done it probably did it for cost reasons alone and not for any artisanal pursuit.

it's possible, but you need to be very anal about it.

Haha, that video is rad-tastic. But in all seriousness, Dan's is actually one of the best in town.
…if your favorite beer is Alexander Keiths or Corona, don’t bother.

I can't think of any place better than Dan's, but Broadway Brewing (http://vancouverwinemaking.com/our-beers/) can also sort you out.

I'm more interested in learning how reductimat came to be an expert on the flavour of cow anus.

Year, YEARS of sampling. I can distinguish between a Randall and a Monchina simply by the wiff of a fart.

Yes, I'm that good.

dan is the man. go to none other. i'm not aware of anyone else in yvr that has any decent product selection.

and: kegging rocks. i hate the tedium of bottle sanitizing. only bottle once a year for my imperial stout (usually kicks about for a year or better).

and: making homebrew that's comparable to good craft (and definitely better than macro swill) isn't that hard with quality ingredients and a little practice. not rocket science, and allot of fun.

Another vote for Dan's here, have made some excellent product with his ingredients. Super tasty and flavourful. Currently saving up for some better equipment but the slightly ghetto way works for the time being. Nothing beats walking into the basement and smelling beer brewing
Home brew doesn't have to taste like piss…

wow, M&M, you're a fucking dick!

don't be so politically correct, this is stacy kohut, not fucking rick hansen your talkin too……..

get a bottle tree, if you properly rinse [HTML_REMOVED] let every bottle dry upside down on a bottle tree its way easier to prep your bottles, I don't make beer but I do wine kits and the same rule applies … air and bacteria are the enemy

Silly. Bottles don't grow on trees.
