So what happens to a piece of equipment like that? How many hours to clean, lube, oil to get it running again?

There is a dozer sitting on the edge of Burns Bog that was stolen about 20 years ago. The story is that they've tried to recover it multiple times with no success. Probably within 5 years the only thing left will be the exhaust stack.
??????????? did this happen how it think it happened

As many hours as it takes Richie Brothers to slap a new coat of paint on it.

10 points for google!!!
However in most cases it is a gradual sinking. For example there is a bulldozer that was stolen from a construction site not far from Burns Bog. The Cat was driven into the bog knocking down trees as it went until it got stuck. It was abandoned and has been there ever since. There was one attempt to get the Cat out of the water using a small excavator. This however only resulted in getting the excavator stuck in the sinkhole as well. In the summer of 1998 they were able to remove the excavator using a helicopter. But the Cat was too heavy, had sunk too far and was held too tightly by suction to be moved. As you can see from the picture (taken March 23, 2003) below, all that remains visible of the bulldozer, is the brush blade and the top of the roll cage. It is still gradually sinking into the bog and will eventually be submerged.

Anyone here know someone with a small excavator that would be interested in a relatively small home job?
Want to level the area beside my house and lot line for a parking spot, moving the extra soil to the backyard and leveling the back yard?
I'm guessing it would take less than a day.
Anyone know what the going rate is for a small excavator?
(I know that HD rents them for less than $300 for the day.)
