Sorry to get you all excited Syncro but this thread has nothing to do with trouser trucks.

Thought I would start this to get all the Iron pics and talk out of the "Awesome Vehicle" thread. Post up pics of the iron you work with.

I have cool pics I add later but for not I will leave you with some pics from this summer.

is going big on a bike the only way to get you stoked on the sport? what happened to riding with your bros, travelling, and riding unique places, to get people stoked on riding?

I've worked on this boat: 5750hp, twin EMDs

and the boats in this photo…the bigger one is 1450hp with a single EMD; the small tug is a river tug, 1500hp

and I've worked on this rail ferry: 2400hp, twin 3508 Cats

and now I often work on the ship berthing tugs like this one: 3100hp MTUs; and yes,
you often run "backwards" under the counter of the ships

With the size of some of the ships, these tugs start to look pretty small

most of the wood we move goes to BC lumber or pulp mills. In years past we used to move a ton of wood from Alaska to BC and I see we have another trip soon back to Southern Alaska….

I will say not 100% of are wood goes to BC mills, but how do you feel the barges are job exporters?

ahh skippers….2 Cats running into a single gearbox which powers one prop…so it's 4 3508s…..lol.

All the raw logs those barges ship to the USA and Asia are lost jobs.

I used to fly to work on a Mi-17 piloted by hung over Ukrainians, but I'm not allowed to post photos of the specific helicopter. It somewhat resembles the white painted Mi-17s the UN uses, but without the "UN" markings.
