I don't know what your personal experiences are, but being who I'm married to has allowed me to meet a lot of GP's, OB's, surgeon's, whatever… always in a non-professional setting like chatting in a lunch room, going to parties, stuff like that, and honestly I have yet to meet any doc who thought differently towards the "poor". I'm sure uncaring slobs are out there and yes I've met them, but personally the ones I've met have had their patient's needs first and foremost. If they didn't care, chances are they wouldn't be practicing.

I think we're talking about two different things here. Im not talking about each individual doctor being a bad person but rather doctors as a collective being just like every other professional organization - whose first mandate is maintain it power. Im sure there are lots of fantastic doctors out there who are great people. Hell, some of my best friends are doctors.

Sorry. This is wrong. A fundamental freedom, in fact THE fundamental freedom of equality means that everyone should be treated equally. Rich or poor.

And that includes the the individual having the right to spend THEIR money as THEY see fit. If they want to spend their money on health care, that is their right. Whether the federal/provincial/municipal government legislates conditions that make it amenable to spend the money here is a different issue.

In other words, should the socialist concept of equal access to efficient, short wait, quality health care be policy in Canada? I believe so, and am willing to help fund it. However, dictating whether I can spend my "after tax dollars" on additional health practises is wrong.

It is easy to dodge our responsibilities, but we cannot dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities.

Its not perfect but forget being more equal than somebody else fact is they can't refuse you health care in canada

infact if you come up from the excited states to surrey memorial you will be served along with all them people named singh who are not actualy canadian eitehr

if there were more people with money paying to line jump I think the wait lines would get shorter

there are surgeons that don't operate enough ,if they can run their own clinic ,get more OR time ,get better ,get faster ,make more money ,work 80 hrs a week ,buy bigger boats/cars/houses/get divorced how can that be bad for health care ?
