Ummm…. So how many times have cops pounded on your door in the middle of the night? And how many none cops who have pounded on your door in the middle of the night has your dad blown away with his shotgun?
Sounds like a fun household.
He was arrested several times when I lived w/ him and more when I didn't. He never killed
someone that I know (at least not in front of me), he injured at least one Samoan when
a gang of them tried to rob him during a transaction. Every time he pulled a shotgun on
someone it was for protection and the people with the gun put it down and left. You do
not want to mess with a person with a 12ga pointing at you, even with a fully auto assault
rifle. You [HTML_REMOVED]might[HTML_REMOVED] hit them, but they will hit you. If you are a robber this: http://www.sounddogs.com/sound-effects/2224/mp3/439568_SOUNDDOGS__sh.mp3
is the worst sound you could hear coming from in front of you in the dark.
Over the years, we lived in bad areas, so the cops pounded on our doors plenty looking
for someone. My dads profession didn't help in that regard. I did learn to shoot from
my dad which taught me gun safety and respect for a firearm and helped me in the
Coast Guard during out LE patrols and boardings.
Father was trained in the US Army and he was a Ohio sharp shooting and speed shooting champ
in high school. He's dead now, killed slowly and painfully by cigarettes.
I've never owned a gun, but I've never been a criminal and I moved away from the chaos
as soon as I could so I never felt the need to own. But it's nice to know if I ever had
to move back to Carson I could buy one and I know how to protect myself properly with
one. Here on the west coast, I have yet to see a truly bad area where I'd feel the need
for a firearm. Canada is nice like that.
