Some CT's have gone all in. I was at the one in Merritt and they had an awesome selection of guns - a Chiappa Triple Crown three barrel shotgun, a Savage .338 Lapua and the T-model shotguns (like the ones in Terminator) that the owner said were selling like hotcakes up there. Good - I think the general public needs to be less sensitive to guns, like they were in the past. Hell, Sears even had their own models.

they had a double barrel dual cal Chippa , was a 22lr/.410 , if it was 22mag/20g i would have scooped it and dealt with the wife later LOL she was wish me LOL .

yeah as a kid I lived around Lougheed Mall and the Woolco also had a full rack of guns , there was a gun shop on the main drag in Port Moody , there was a shop in Poco on Kingsway , was a different time guns where more open

Do yourself a big favour and just ignore Chiappa guns - they charge way too much money for low quality guns. I wanted one of those Double Badgers that you looked at, but the more I read about them I actually cancelled my order with Wanstalls.

If you want a dual barrel (and they often have issues with open sights) - then look for an old Savage 24. I have one in .22 over and 20 gauge under, but they did have some with 30-30 upper and 20 gauge lower and a variety of combinations. Anything other than .22/.410 will cost you some $$$. The new model 42 is junk - it's called a Savage 42 and it only comes in .22 upper and .410 lower barrel.

Still a $100 too much. Both are poor choices - do a little digging into them.

Better. Why do you want a combo gun? They are heavy, each barrel has a different POI and they are generally heavy.

I have one of these: https://www.corwin-arms.com/product/ricol-20-1650-chrome-short-over-single-trigger

I love the gun. Built solid, small, and gets the job done on grouse and I have even shot a few good rounds of trap with it. I keep slugs in a pouch on the butt stock and bird shot in my pocket.

If you really want another calibre and don;t care much about POI, then get one of these in your choice: http://www.shotgunadapter.com/

I'm not a fan of 1911's in particular but this is a cool showing how one works.

Does anyone know of somewhere around the Vancouver that will let you challenge the test to get your PAL/RPAL?

I would like to get that taken care of one of these times I'm back home so that I can keep my guns (well, most of them) if I ever repatriate.

That's the problem with cities, they're refuges for the weak, the fish that didn't evolve.

I don't want to google this - sounds like a thing that NSMB will be better at.

Bad news for you - when the Cons passed the Common Sense Firearms Bill C-42, part of that Bill included mandatory training and that means no one can challenge the course anymore. You have to sit in a one-day class for your non restricted licence and another 8 hour day for your restricted licence.

Damn.

Guess I'll have to schedule a trip home around when the classes offered.
