I saw on global last night that some folks in the interior are stocking up on guns and ammunition. Do they think the covid zombies are coming. I just don’t get gun nuts.

In the states they have gun buy-backs, in an effort to get guns off the streets. If you turn in your gun, you get $100. If you don't turn in your gun, you can get anything.

Nope, they're preparing for this lockdown to go the distance. Some people prep for disaster. Others prep for people.

I believe that latter statement is similar to Jesus and his buddy Luke 22:36. Just a bit more modern.

Additional firearm laws are in the pipeline.  Two year buyback for illegal arms.

The debate on this is hot and heavy.  Personally I think this is more for votes than lives, but I also don't really care if people can't buy AR-15s anymore so I have few shits to give on this topic.  This is Canada and we can regulate guns for any reason.

What I find amusing is the argument against banning them is that they are no different than other semi-auto guns on the market and that this just about appearance.  So why should I care if they are banned?  People can use the other guns that are apparently exactly the same and move on.  Why do they need the scarier looking guns?  And they are scarier looking.  That is why all the MAGA hat dipshits in Michigan brought them to the legislature building and not their basic wood stock hunting rifles.

Really not my rope to piss on, but if I were calling the shots I'd have pretty much what we have now except a more comprehensive registry and make the penalty for being caught with an unregistered weapon similar to that of manslaughter. At least it would keep some of these gangster losers behind bars and let normal people stroke themselves with all the guns they want.

We should not be allowed to drive, let alone own guns.  At least in a city.

If we start properly investing in education I'll reconsider my positions above.
