Id like to think my dad wouldn't charge me for the rifle. Lol.

.17HMR is an interesting round but it's almost the same price as .223/556. It seems like a fun caliber but I'd personally rather have the versatility of .223.
That little BB gun can offer you a lot of safe practice in the house. 90% of shooting skills can be practiced at home.. Drawing and re-holstering, trigger finger discipline, site alignment and basic trigger pull, even just holding the gun properly. BB guns are nice for drills because you don't need to rack the slide every time to reset the trigger, and there is no risk of negligent discharges.
I've found dry fire practice so useful that I do a round or two of dry fire even when I'm at the range, it really helps keep you focused on the basics.
Good vid [HTML_REMOVED] yeah I very vaguely remember some kind of broken firing pin incident dry firing my fathers gun when I was probably 10
When my kid was into biathalon they would all practise dry fire which seemed wrong to me but the rifles belonged to the club and i never said any thing
I went biking at otway after being away for 9 years, that is quite a range they built for the canada games
stumbled onto that video today, first i have herd about why not to dry fire. Nechako outdoors have a sale starting today, going to pick some fishing stuff up and am thinking about getting a pump action shotgun.
yeah the vid explains why which I never knew I just know I broke one, my dad wasn't mad at me cuz he had let me so he didn't know either
I took the FAC from a guy in PeeG named Roy something because junior was a biathalete but I'm not a hunter [HTML_REMOVED] I don't own any guns, IMO some of the guys in that class were not the sharpest knives
I always bag my limit in the safeway meat dept
That vid is good, I never dry fire my tokarevs since they have hard brittle firing pins. I'll dry fire my glock all day and not worry.

Regarding getting a PAL.
I did mine with silvercore and it was ok. I disagree with some of the instructors on some things.
Xarms.ca or civiladvantage would be what I recommend now. Maybe Hical.ca based in Mission.

I don't think there is a fault in the curriculum, just the current firearms act is so full of grey area that opinions can differ on certain subjects. There is no doubt Silvercore is one of the leaders in firearms licencing due to ease of access and the sheer number of courses.

I bought one last year, but it was after the ground squirrels / gophers had gone back into their holes for the fall. It's a lot of fun to shoot, much more accurate than a 22, and at least down here, still cheaper than 223 (unless you reload)
It's also much quieter than a 223, which is nice for shooting without ear plugs.
I've seriously considering buying the new savage a17, which claims to be the first semi-auto 17hmr that actually works.
Another one to try out is the 17wsm. A co-worker bought one, and it allows you to shoot a 25 gr bullet at the same speeds at the 17hmr shoots a 17 gr. It will kill a coyote quicker than the 17hmr will, and take care of smaller varmints just as well. The downside is ammo is another few bucks for a box of 50.
That's the problem with cities, they're refuges for the weak, the fish that didn't evolve.
I don't want to google this - sounds like a thing that NSMB will be better at.
My Fabarm.
I just noticed that shell holder, what kind is that?
