Ruger 10/22 Full Custom - Probably the best firearm I ever owned.

That's a nice clean looking rifle.

All my guns are air powered, but still pretty cool and fun to shoot. I have to get my powder fix at DVC, which reminds me it's almost time again.

whoa, that's trick. is that a pump mechanism or co2? (i know nothing of current air gun tech). i'm assuming it's some sort of competition gun?

as a kid, spent a fair amount of time with various air guns w/ friends [HTML_REMOVED] plinking small caliber rifles w/ my dad. now the prospect of introducing firearms to the kids seems a bit weird. interesting change in perspective.

I've taken my course twice now and never ended up submitting the paperwork (once because I deployed, second time I was just lazy). Paying for it now, I'm finding that guns are so much cheaper down in the US than back home, and without my license I can't take anything back across the border when I move back this summer.

Being cheap is OK. Being a clueless sanctimonious condescending douchebag is just Vlad's MO.

I like my 10/22 though it isn't the most accurate past 75 yards. I just use it as a plinker anyways - and my boys like shooting it as well.

Nechako - what are you hunting that requires such a large bore?

I heard a rumour Wooly Mammoths were making a comeback?

Freedom of contract. We sell them guns that kill them; they sell us drugs that kill us.

Just your basic low power springer. Nothing fancy, just a plinker with really cool aesthetics.

You can submit course results up to 5 years after you did the exam. Maybe longer. The instructor or company you took your course from should also have copies of your exams if you've lost em. Get it done.

I got my PAL last summer with the full intention of getting my license before duck hunting started. License arrived in time but I got lazy, didn't buy a shotgun and here we are late Spring 2015.

I want to buy a shotgun but have no idea what I should be looking for. I'd also like to keep it under $1,000. Any recommendations?

A combo like this will treat you well. The Mossberg 500s have aluminum receivers and don't rust like the Remington 870 express models do.

True, but if you properly maintain your shotgun (and you should), an 870 will last a life time…and if it doesn't, you buy another one for 500 or less.. The Mossberg's great as well, but in my opinion, a pain in the ass to disassemble.

I hear ya, I use an 870 in the bush. Maverick 88 (cheap mossy 500) as a truck gun. Never had an issue with either.

I have a Mossberg 460G - made in Canada for Mossberg in 1974 - still pumping rounds down the pipe. I can strip it in less than 2 minutes, use current day 500 parts for it. Great value.

I have a couple air powered toys.

Went with these as there is lots of mods for them and most of them I can do at work to pass the time on slow days. Since getting them, I've yet to work on any of our boats that have lathes on them, lol.

the carbine is pump and will eventually get a longer barrel with a muzzle. The barrel from the carbine will go on the hand gun, although I may shorten it a bit. It too will get a muzzle. Custom wood grip for hand gun at some point.

If the airgun guys get their PAL they could legally move out of the restrictive 500fps regulation. Some really nice airguns available if you're licenced.
