my overall taxes are quite a bit lower than under the NDP government
and their building the portman fucking bridge finally.

just to name a few.

and how much is it going to cost you to cross it in a year?

LOL at the daily users $3 per trip x 2 x 200days a year = $1200 after tax..

Is there a Vancouver in Taiwan?! I had no idea!!

Nothing sums up my life's achievements like my stuffed corpse, suplexing a cougar.

This is good for the Liberal party, bad for the NDP.

rat will argue the less gas wasted idling defence, but in reality, I love zipping past the slow lane and the "fast" lane when I'm in the HOV lane with the wife.

Great, now how much time and money do commuters currently spend idling in the parking lot that is highway 1?

I think they should abolish the hov lane as well. Think about it, it was intended to encourage people to carpool. Not all of us can, so instead we have to sit in the cluttered slow and fast lanes and watch those lucky enough wizz by us. The problem is that extra lane would alleviate so much traffic and not make the infrastructure so overworked. Yes it works in major cities like L.A. and Toronto etc. but they also don't have the same geographical challenges as the lower mainland. I'm not happy about paying taxes for infrastructure that i'm not allowed to use or if I do I get a nice ticket.

root cause of the problem?

Hence the currently underway highway project. You do know it's not just a new bridge being built right? A much larger highway is being built to deal with the massive volume of traffic coming from surrey, Langley, Abby, etc.
