I'm betting you can't drive stick.

It just fits the profile.

Driving stick is completely overrated. I miss my old 74 300D benz (total beater) - no shifting, stop and go in the city rarely pissed me off.

the automatics in new cars are pretty awesome with performance that is better than a stick BUT hypotheticly would you want a ferrari or a porshe with a stick or an automatic … one of those paddle shifters ?

for a racing car paddles are faster ,for general driving I would go stick

whenever I drive my GF's van I keep reaching for the non existant 5spd

E30 318 or 325i.

Nice cars, sturdy, fun to drive and pretty cheap for insurance.

I'm guessing that's a relative term, cause I don't see a beem'r being cheap for insurance when compared to a civic or something similar.

Where is the joy in playing stop and go in commuter traffic? No where.

My '93 320i is about $100 more a year than my '90 Civic with collision and comprehensive. I'm suggesting a '91 and earlier BMW.

Uhh… that doesn't change the fact that they're 3X the price.
