So I'm going to be racing at TBC Karting in Richmond with some friends after work next week and naturally I want to kick their sorry butts.

I'm wondering if anyone on here has raced there a few times and wants to share some advice.

This is also a great chance to brag about your lap times if you'd like :D.

I'd really just like some tips on the track, the karts, etc.

All my times are under the name Harding. ;)

keep two wheels in the traction paint at all times.

If the tires screech you're going to fast. Actually.

Cars are slow to rev and torqueless. Keep that in mind when you're picking your line

you can go full throttle with no brakes from the start point until the first hairpin, any bumps and they get pissed off but if u can get in on someones bumper and gas it and spin them out u can get away with it.

Your body type really makes a difference to.

I always bring my bike full face and riding gloves, so much better than getting in reuded helmets and touching the nasty steering wheel.

Slow in = fast out. Maintaining speed is what it's all about. Drifting and sliding are usually not to your advantage.

Do not lift through the chicane.

Is it counter productive to ride on my exercise bike with a cocktail in hand?

You only need to brake for corners 2 and 5. Don't brake for 1 or 6. Go wide of the hairpin. Do this right and you'll be able to pull a 30-31s time.

Some good tips so far, I slouch my ass way forward knees high, dont lift the gas just add a touch of brake when needed pre corner. Clip your apexes and keep flow….unless you have heat on your ass guard inside line always, really hard to pass on the outside.

Try to get a cart that has just been run hard, tires should still be warm. It takes about half a race to heat them up.

Here is the big secret…..yank on throttle cable on floor, sometimes you can get some more(it may have slack or be limited)

i have been 210 plus since i was 20….and i always have the hottest laps hehehe.

Wana be race car driver for life :(

Yeah drifting isn't a good idea. I was having so much fun sliding around every corner that I got lapped. Every car isn't the same though so watch the first couple of heats ahead of you and see which ones look faster.
