Gas brand loyalty?

I'm wondering if anyone is a loyal customer to any particular gas station? Also just wondering if what you put in your vehicle is either the cheapest or what you think helps your vehicle run the best?

I almost exclusively use Chevron. I find my truck runs better on that than any other brand. Shell is a distant second between the major 4 (Chev, Esso, Petro Can and Shell). My truck and other people's cars I know of will ping with Petro Can and Esso.

I like Chevron… I won't use shell because of the dodge fiasco and I wont use Esso because they seem to be the only company that gets crap from activists around here (and their logo is ugly). Superstore gas is like water so I wont touch that either. Petro can pisses me off because they need membership to get the 3.5 off at teh pump (so annoying)

chevron. Esso is Exxon [HTML_REMOVED] fucked up a lot of stuff in Alaska that one time. Shell has had some human rights issues.

Funny how gas is the only thing I ever buy with a conscience. "yeah, bring me 3 more of the made-by-8-yr-olds-in-a-sweatshop-T-shirts."

Chevron, they have the highest octane.

Nah it can be different, at least here. Some companies sell gas with 10% ethanol.

Its all the same unless you need a higher octane. All the gas comes from the same refineries - don't buy into additives and crap.

I remember reading that from another thread but why do engines react differently? Is it just a different rate/type of internal combustion due to different additives? By that I mean, if I strictly use Chevron and then switch over to Shell with different additives, that'd cause a different reaction in the engine. And if so, is that due to additives or inexplicable reasons known to this board?

i dont care. its all gets me high.

Being an agoraphobic adrenaline junkie would be pretty convenient, because you could get your rush from just going to the store to get some milk instead of having to jump off a mountain or out of an airplane.
