Fan on furnace is acting up (not staying on). Old furnace, needs maintenance, might be time for replacement.
Any recommendations for a reliable furnace repair company that is quick and honest? (we are in North Van)

I been using use Milani for many years … they are highly professional, but they may not be the cheapest.
Not BC Furnace , there nearly blew up my house dues to their substandard work. yes I had an explosion in my house after they serviced it.
Did a great job replacing ours and a friends. Also works with your Home Depot financing to replace one.
I got a new Rheems 80,000 btu HE furnace 4 years ago which cost 4000$, also R50 in the attic and some weatehr stripping for a total of [HTML_REMOVED]6000$, there were energy rebates which payed me back 2500$ but even without those incentives the gas bill is cut in half which amounts to saving 1300$ a year on gas … I'm way ahead
get 3 estimates my quotes ranged from 4000 to 5600 and one guy didn't even show up
you can search which furnaces are better on the internet I found that Rheems came out pretty good

Proper installation is WAY more important then the brand.

This … a lot of flaky operators out there. Some places will send out a sales guy who knows little about furnaces and heating. They will try to sell you the biggest furnace that is way more BTUs than you need with just a quick look around. I got a energy audit done on my home and the auditor (an MTB buddy) did a BTU rating for my home by taking measurements of the homes air leakage, insulation, furnace and ductwork. The audit used to be free/paid for by the Province, but I believe there is now a fee. I don't know if this has changed, but there may be some info here:

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Between this and just leaving the oven open I think we'll be okay till the weather warms up in a couple months.

In which case, my posts be radiating warmth rather than blowing hot air …

Just buy a Dyson then.. and enjoy the "warning" label on the power cord stating it draws more powa than a fridge or a stove.
