Cracked an ice cold Heineken king can tonight. Then tacos (with hardshells) for supper. Good combination.

I woke up this morning and realized that even though Canada lost last night, life will go on. Besides now we have an nhl season to look forward to. 56 games in 116 days means you can watch your team every second night pretty much.

I can't believe that I abandoned hard shells and I ate soft shells for so many years.  The crunch is so satisfying.  Damn... now I want tacos!

My take, soft taco lathered in guacamole. Then wrapped around a hard shell with your choice of fillings. The soft keeps the hard shell in check. No salsa on you’re shirt.

I don't know if I can go back to hard shell tacos now. I've been on the mexican street style bandwagon for years.

Do you go full 80s, with the ground taco beef and shredded orange cheese?

^^ here’s my radical opinion on that.  It’s better as a salad.

Chicken, fish or pulled pork. Ground beef is for burgers.

The hard shells with square bottoms were an improvement, but still can be messy. I think Flatch just stepped it up a notch going double shelled.

Stuff like this is in it.

I was skimming through some of the older posts in this thread and stumbled across this. You’re best, I mean really you’re best post ever in my opinion.

Starch ratio is all wrong.. I have yet to find a good soft shell taco, or maybe I'm just not heating them up right I dunno they're always way too chewy

Heat them up directly on the stove element (if you have a flat top) till they start to blow up like a balloon then flip. They’ll have some crunch. Sometimes after the flip I’ll throw on some grated jalapeño cheese so it gets a little melt on.

I go half 80's.  I mix my own spices and my mix is 1/2 ground beef and 1/2 black beans with a little corn for colour.  Top with hot sauce (Valentina), tomatoes, sour cream, lettuce, and oh yes the grated cheddar.

I also make salads in a crunchy bowl.  I have these metal things that I use to bake tortillas into taco salad bowls.
