OK, I will refrain on slagging the River but I will say that views like that are why I will never leave BC.  Every town in this province has epic natural beauty.  The license plates don't lie... except for Port Hardy.  It is a crusty butt hole.

On a nice summer evening, take the water taxi to April Point and watch the sunset.  :)

That looks sweet definitely gunna give that a go, we just spent all day exploring Quadra actually. We hiked to surge narrows and then roasted some weenies on rebecca spit.

Ripple Rock trail is a nice climb and has a great view of Seymour Narrows.

The trail around the river is a good, small walk (if you haven't tried it).  I once climbed to the top of one of the overflow towers just above the generating station.  Spectacular view from there - the other side of Quadra can be seen.

They have been giving tours of the new generating station, and there might be one again this summer.

B.C. definitely has a lot of great places to go to if you like the outdoors.

Had an awesome day. Met colleagues from my school and colleagues from Italy in Cologne. Went there by bike. Had a few drinks, with great local food. All in all 100 km on my bike in sunshine.

And tomorrow I am once again off to Winterberg bikepark for some easy laps of working on my UnBraking Skills and my jumping.

Hey guys...anything positive?

I had two days of lapping up laps at Winterberg before the DirtMasters Festival this weekend which I visit with Little M.

Met two racers from Bristol, England, prepping for the IXS DH race.

Rode with them all day. Really nice to ride with them. They pushed me to go faster and switch off my mind which resulted in conquering a drop I was scared of.

And being told by a gorgeous female racer that my pace down the race track was 'pretty good' feels really really good.

And having (shit) talked in English all the time is just a sweet bonus.

Dirtmasters Festival in Winterberg is effing awesome. Sunshine, blue skies and good vibes all around.

Got Little M the Fox Raptor chest/back deflector/protector vest, an O'Neal Neckroll and TSG Boulder pads for his elbows and lower legs. He is definitely mind blown and happy as a kid can be.

Watched the rookie slopestyle comp, chatted with Andrew Neethling and Olly Wilkins, saw Barel in action.

Tomorrow we watch the downhill race and the pro slopestyle comp before heading home again.

Sweet.

If everything is going to plan I spend a few days in a bikepark in a place called Serfaus in the Austrian alps next weekend.

Massive family camp in Nanaimo last weekend; about a million children running rampant while me and the boys eff-off for mountain bike rides each day.  I really enjoyed coming back to camp and NOT having to take care of a grommet; only a few months of that left to savour.  Also the new tent trailer was comfy as hell; gets the pregnant wife stamp of approval.

Mountain biking in Nanaimo is blowing up right now.  Boucoup de new stuff, sustained DH on the island is a rare treat.
