The 2 most impressive salmon run sites I've seen are:

Lillooet and watch the First Nations fishing from the rocks through the canyon area.

Farwell Canyon (West of Williams Lake) and watch the First Nations fishing from the rocks through the canyon area.

Oh ya, the run in the Chilkoot River near Haines Alaska was cool, the Grizzlys were there feeding too.

If not for the fishing, some of bc's most beautiful, lakes , rivers, and hunting.

Clunking is for retards.

Yup, there is LOTS of great stuff to see and do on both sides of highway 20. We need to plan another trip up there for more exploration around the big lakes.

Because of the massive propaganda upwelling the has the rabid dogs of the PC world drooling!

Hey…Fox News…Get your talking points straight.

I don't think anybody has ever blamed fisheries problems on "global warming", but may as well complain about people complaining about it anyhow.

I think you're more likely to hear about it being blamed on poor fisheries management, fish farms, destruction of spawning habitat, etc.

The Adams is great for spectating…even at peak visitor usage, the crowd is very tolerable

I haven't heard…so is this yr a big Sockeye run then? Or are we talking a huge Pink run….???

Any recommendations for a good spot to set up a camera to catch the fish jumping a waterfall?

Such as?

We've got a week off and Hood river isn't windy enough to bother going.

a couple of my kayak buddies took a WW canoe on the Adams during a really big run said it was great watching all the fish and the huge crowds, they weren't really sure if they were allowed to be on the river at that time but they never got in any trouble and it would have been easy to roust them at the takeout before the waterfall

I seen a lot of salmon runs from the seat of a ww kayak, they usually sneak up the eddys cuz there is less current its like a highway for salmon, come blasting into an eddy and watch them all scatter

I'll send you and the 1/2 pic links when I get home tonight. They are on FB but I think I can send you links that you can see.

InaCycle [HTML_REMOVED] I did 2 weeks up there back in 2012. We enjoyed it enough that we have it on the agenda to go back.

Skipping Hood River right now is a good idea as a bunch of the private forest areas (that have mtn bike trails on them) down there are closed due to fire danger.

Took my family up to the Adams this weekend. It didn't seem like there were as many fish as when we went in 2010, but it was still pretty impressive.

Thanksgiving weekend was nothing short of insane. The salmon run may not have been quite as big as 2010, but the crowds were 10 times as big. The wife's parents live just a few minutes past the Adams, and it was a nightmare getting there. Traffic backed up almost to the highway.
