Meatsa pie.

Make pizza but instead of dough use ground beef, breadcrumbs and an egg baked into a pie plate. Drain grease, cover with toppings and a heavy layer of cheese and finish baking.

I had a good veggie Shepard's Pie recipe a while back. Sub out meat for Quinoa and some other nonsense and it was actually highly tasty

Cottage cheese in lasagna? Sacrilege!

And oregano is a no go.

Wife makes a really good Shepards Pie. I assume with magic or something. Need a wee bit of HP in there too.

Impress your significant other with Alton Brown's crème brulee.

It's pretty easy to make, most of the time is waiting for it to cool enough to eat.

I've found Kenji from Serious Eats to have some awesome recipes. Some of them can be time consuming/complex but damn the results have been good.

His cookbook is amazing as well if you're a food/science dork.

Pâté chinois

Last night's variation was replace the ground beef with pulled pork taco meet. The flavouring of the pulled pork is not usual bbq, but more of a carnitas.

Getting the top of the spuds crispy is the best part.

Mouth watering corned beef brisket is easy to do. Here's a recipe using a ready-made brisket, but I cure my own over 5 days and it tastes way better that way. I then follow similiar instructions with the cloves and mustard, then baked in the oven instead of boiled. PM me if you want details on the curing process (needs salt, cure, some spices, and a big bowl to put in the fridge).

alton's recipe is a great basic shepherds pie to start with. try switching up the meat, add some italian sausages, bacon.. cheese on top, peppers.. possibilities are endless
