Put on a clean pair of socks, walk into the kitchen & step in something sticky.

So much rain my back yard is like a swamp. It's wetter than a nun doing squats in a cucumber patch.

The drainage tile connection from my house's perimeter drains and the city storm sewer is overwhelmed/blocked.

I've got every garden hose I own siphoning water from the perimeter drain stub ups out to my lawn, but they're still overflowing and gushing water into my crawl space, which has a small lake forming under the house now.

Lovely. Getting that dried out is going to be fun.

Hopefully get the connection unblocked tomorrow  and I can then start pumping out the crawlspace and install a dehumidifier before all of my floorboards start to curl up and a mold festival starts. Fuck.

That really seems more like a problem that you'd experience in a third world country like Greece.

Have you ever used a brand new stick deodorant for the first time & that protective clear plastic guard is still on? Fuck that hurts.

Watching the guy ahead of me be the last car allowed on the ferry. But hey, at least I am first in line for the next one, albeit 2 hours later.

That is the worst.  Seeing that hand go up and wave everyone to another lane.  I was coming down from the coast on a Sunday once.  I was the last car to make it and my buddy was the first one that missed it.  LOL.  The worst part was that we had already established we had enough cash when pooled together to order a pizza so I left him pizzaless.  Well, worst for him anyway.

There's a first world solution for that called reservations. At least for the bigger crossings that allow it. Well worth the $17 IMHO.

You did each other a favor by not having to eat Ferry Pizza.

I should have added that this was back in the day before reservations or mobile credit card machines.
