We bought a $350 kitchen faucet and the fittings don't fit the existing copper piping. grrrrrr......
There is a $5 piece that will make it work. You could probably even shark bite it.
Huh? It's threaded. And, the inlet piping is so tightly clustered together any reducer will have to go upstream prolly near the shut off valve. I'm thinking stainless braid might be the best thing for connecting directly to the new hrdwr.

Uh ... isn't a SS braided riser the normal way to connect a faucet? Certainly the way it was done for all sinks in my last two houses.
The ones I just installed came with the braided hoses..
Some use the darkish gray colored hard plastic tubing for the supply lines. That's what I have. SS would be good though for the flexibility.

The clever builder who sold the front unit and moved into this one until his family who financed wanted their $ back used copper from shut-off to faucet.

And that's what I found when I rummaged around in the packaging the faucet came in! Eureka!
But they weren't long enough. Had to make a trip to HD. : (

This is what they layed in the concrete that sticks up through the cabinet floor and attaches to the cheap shut off valves that leak when they're shut off. lol.....but not otherwise.

And yet, some people will pay more for a litre of bottled water without complaint, than they do for a litre of gas (whilst complaining loudly).
Even the the best available water in the region is free for the taking, and conveniently piped into every building.
Yeah I don't complain too much about gas prices, as someone who works in renovations it's the clients who bear the cost of most of my gas usage when I'm driving my little 4 cylinder truck.
Other than that we have a fuel efficient sedan that gets driven so lightly we only have to fill it once a month or so, and even at a 160 it's not like it's breaking the bank or anything.
I guess it's tough for the people who have long daily commutes and have to pay for their own gas but seriously, figure out some carpools or some shit if that's the case.
