Canada should ban smoking and drinking.
and junkfood and trans fats and fastforwarding and sex and internet and mountain biking.
Finally.... a progressive country.

see what i think is, if you ever buy a pack of ciggs you go into a computer, then they spot those houses, and if they catch you they fine you, then rape you.
if you dont like it, don't smoke
same should go for people who speed.. and do other silly stuff… huge fines and rape.

 Are you joking?
The heavy elements are a small risk compared to the rest of the shit that you inhale. It's not just heavy elements and a few other things. It's thousands of chemicals and toxins.
Im black on the inside.
FYI: Im blacker than black.

Well the "you waive your right to privacy by buying this pack" warning on a pack would probably work better than the "you're gonna get cancer" we've got now at least. The conspiracy theorists would stop smoking! I don't know what conspiracy theorists do when they're not smoking though…

well, since they look like mel gibson, they probably fend off 35-40 year old women with a stick…
hey guys, i don't care enough to try and reference this.
but when the tobacco co's put stuff like lead and other heavy elemtns in cigs, these cause a lot of the health effects. sure smoking tobacco isn't great, but at lot of the cancers and stuff come from these huger numbers of additives.
read a cig pack and prove me wrong.
Thankfully I'm glad to live in Calgary for once were the city is supposed to be completely smoke free by 2008 I believe it is. It may be a while still, but after that point there will be no smoking in any public places, at all. Oh I can't wait.

Bhutan is the focus of a lot of attention round the world - they only recently introduced satellite TV, so there are several longish term surveys going on to determine the effects of TV on kids.
Obviously this research cant be done in the "civilized" (read TV saturated) world as there is no comparison data.
Already teenage girls in Bhutan have been found whoring themselves to buy makeup to look like the women they have seen on TV (source BBC documentary).
I'd say they ought to spend their time on the TV issue first and worry about somking second.
